2004年，米其林将赛事运动精神带到了中国。米其林中国曾参与的赛事包括：全国汽车场地锦标赛，全国汽车拉力锦标赛，亚洲超级房车赛，中国吉利方程式锦标赛，哈尔滨冰雪挑战赛，中国越野锦标赛……
在一个多世纪里，米其林活跃在赛车运动的舞台上，通过米其林轮胎科技为赛车运动的发展做出了巨大的贡献。米其林曾经参与的国际顶级汽车运动包括：一级方程式比赛，勒芒24小时耐力赛，美国勒芒系列赛，达喀尔拉力赛，世界拉力锦标赛，世界摩托车大奖赛，超级摩托车锦标赛。
1891年，法国人查尔斯·泰宏骑着装有米其林轮胎的自行车取得了第一次环法自行车大赛的冠军。从那以后，米其林与赛车结下了不解之缘。
